Learjet 60

Description

The Bombardier Learjet 60 is a mid-size mid-range business jet. Its first flight was in 1990 and it was commercially introduced in 1993. The Learjet 60 (LR60) is an improved version of the Learjet 55, featuring a longer fuselage and more powerful engines. The LR 60 has a larger cabin than many mid-size business jets, a nice compliment to its outstanding climb and cruise performance. The LR 60 seats 8. Its cabin dimensions are 5.7 feet high, 5.9 feet wide and 17.7 feet long.

The LR 60 features twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW305A turbofans, each of which can provide up to 5,225 pounds of thrust, giving it one of the highest thrust-to-weight ratios in its class. These engines enable the LR 60 to climb to 43,000 feet in 14 minutes. It has a service ceiling of 51,000 feet. Its maximum cruise speed is Mach 0.70 (457 knots, 525 mph) and has a maximum range of 2310 nautical miles (2655 miles). The LR 60 holds a maximum of 1180 gallons of fuel and burns an average of 203 gallons per hour. It has an available payload of 1068 pounds with max fuel. Its combination of climb performance, cruise speed, range and operating costs are nearly impossible to beat, making it one of the top in its class in all four aforementioned categories. It is an ideal plane for 1-4 hour flights. A typical flight in the LR 60 is from New York to Miami. In this example, New York to Miami would be approximately 2.5 hours in an LR 60.

Hourly estimates for the LR 60 range from $3200-$3650.
